History

In 1356, the Persian Language and Literature department was established as part of the Faculty of Education affiliated with Razi University in Kermanshah. Currently, it offers programs at three levels: Bachelor's (established in 1356), Master's (established in 1381), and Doctorate (established in 1388).

One of the main objectives of establishing this department is to familiarize students with correct Persian writing and reading, and to develop their ability to research ancient Persian texts in both poetry and prose. The aim is to introduce these skills to the academic and cultural community of the country. Another goal of founding this department is to promote and expand the Persian language and literature in Iranian society and beyond.
